I must admit I was a little disappointed that I was not going to be able to do the soap camp I had planned for Oct. ’16 but this… this makes up for it and is even better!
The dates are Feb. 3rd, 4th and 5th. I don’t have check-in and check-out times yet but we will arrive supper or 4th meal time Friday and leave after breakfast on Monday. The place is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. (The condo is actually just outside of Myrtle Beach in Garden City) Spirit Air flies here and we can pick up anyone who needs us to at the airport.
If you want to come or have questions, friend me and then message me Or, join this FB group: Soaping at the Beach with Bunni & Friends. My FB link is at the bottom of the page.
I still need to clarify some details wtih my friend who manages the condo but here’s what it looks like: We can have the small condo (the one in the video below) on the 3rd, 4th, 5th (friday eve until after breakfast Monday) I would like to book two condos so we have one kitchen for soap and one for food but if we have to switch back and forth, so be it. If we can’t get the other condo we can get a few more twin air mattresses in her efficiency unit. If we have to move mattresses out of the way by day, so be it.
This is the unit we’ll be in making soap (and sleeping, at least a few of us)
There is an indoor pool and an indoor hot tub so if we are short on bathrooms we can hot tub instead of shower. 😉
This is my estimate on what we can do:
- Friday, Sat & Sun nights at the condo(s)
- Friday supper or 4th meal
- Saturday 3 meals
- Sunday 2 meals and dinner out on the town (not included in cost)
- Monday breakfast
- All materials included – BYO stick blender and that’s about all. (Oh and a twin air bed if you have one) I will get all supplies and equipment over there.
I will make goodie bags for everyone that will include:
- Hair conditioner
- and a couple of other little goodies.
I think we can do this for $250 per person. The food will be simple and easy and if there are special diets we can probably accommodate them without too much trouble. Just please don’t decide to be gluten free just for that weekend. Gluten free is the hardest for me to prep for (but I can if I need to). Vegan is doable.
What do you think? There are 5 of us considering right now. I think we can do 8 without any problem – look at that island in the kitchen… and we can put up folding tables if needed. If we get more people we’ll figure how to expand. (I can move us to the church if I need to for work space)
If we should get a lot more people, we can rent other accommodations, they may add a bit to the price but will not be exorbitant this time of year. Or, if anyone wants their own room/space, that’s doable too.
Then… I need to know if there are any particulars you want to do/learn. I know Suzi wanted to do felted soap. We can do a liquid, a soleseife… what else? Do you want to do any business stuff or just hands on soaping?
