  • 8 ounces water
  • 2 ounces Everclear or Vodka*
  • 2 tsp. glycerin
  • 6 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 3 drops stevia
  • 1 drop of green coloring (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1tablespoon arrowroot (or GMO free corn starch)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons glycerin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 6 drops peppermint
  • 3 drops stevia

  • 1 part coconut oil
  • 1 part shea butter
  • 2 part arrowroot (or GMO free corn starch)
  • 2 part baking soda
  • tea tree oil (2-3 drops per tablespoon of oil)**
Note: You can do this with double the coconut oil and no shea butter. I like it a lot better with the shea butter and it keeps it from becoming liquid in the summer.
 Salt or Sugar Scrub

I recommend sugar as salt can sting. I make these in half pint mason jars. Tied with a bow and a tag they are great gifts.

1 clear  jar
1 cup sugar
1/4 c. grapeseed or olive oil
1 T glycerin
1/2 t. essential oil
Mix everything in a bowl.  Adjust the amount of base oil to your liking and the amount of essential oils. I generally use more than 1/2 t. but some oils are stronger than others. Patchouli, for example, would not require more than 1/2 t.  Many people suggest far less scent. You can experiment!

* Vodka or Everclear is a healthier form of alcohol to inhale or expose skin to than isopropyl alcohol is.
**Conversion – 20 drops = 1 ml, 5 ml=1 tsp.
